Disappointed in Cave Spring,VA store
I have used Discount Tire across the country and have always received 5 star service, except this time. My tires were bought and installed at a different Discount Tire store.
One of my tires has a whop-whop-whop sound on smooth roads. The day before, I made an on-line reservation with all the detail. Upon arrival, Justin meets me in the parking lot and asks what he can do for me. I believe there was only one other customer there.
What was the purpose of writing the detailed request on-line service request if they don't read it? So, already irritated, I told him, rotate, balance and inspection. He runs his electronic gismo across all tires and says that I don't need a rotation and to come back when they wear a little more. Yeah, I left without getting a balance or rotation.
I guess the inspection consisted of running his measurement tool across the tires. Justin just came across like he wouldn't make any profit off me so he wasn't going to fulfill my request.
I wasn't happy as this is not like Discount Tire to treat a customer. I won't ever return to that store.

Unfortunately this is the 2nd time that this shop sold us a bad tire and this one almost cost our lives so I feel compel to leave an honest review to warn others.
Yes they have great price, yes you don't have to wait forever to get your tires done, however if I never had any issues with other tire places except this one twice...it has to make you think, this cannot be a coincidences so I choose safety above everything else. Not sure if it's because they don't balance or do wheel alignments or what but they need to look deeper because as I searched other discount tires shop around the states and their headquarters I hear a lot of complaints about the same issues I've experienced.
To make matters worse the store manager Mark did not seem to care that we almost got into a very bad car accident because of this tire, blaming us for what may have happened to the tire...we ended up needing to pay a prorated rate for them to replace our tire with no apologies whatsoever. They were able to have that tire that same day which was a plus and the only plus for this store.
After I complained to corporate office about our treatment a very nice gentlemen called me and was very empathetic about what happened to us in which it made me feel better.
His name is Jimmy and he is the assistant VP and he was able to provide us with that tire refund (of what we paid that morning). He was very professional and explained their policy in which I'd hope someone had explained it to us prior of us purchasing the tires or even that morning when we came to explained what happened with their tires

After purchasing 4 brand new tires one actually came off when I was driving the car
When we moved to Ocala the first thing done was new tires from Discount Tire. Long story short my husband doesn't know much about cars...planes yes...so when the car started vibrating and making noises he thought it was something else.
In his defense why would we check the tires because they were brand new vor. Fast forward a few weeks and l'm in Longwood driving the car to an auto shop. My front drivers side wheel completely comes off and rolls across six lanes of traffic.
When the tow truck driver was trying to put the wheel back on in order to get the car onto the lift he was taking one lugnut off of all the other wheels. He said that ALL of the lugnuts were loose on ALL tires.

I would strongly suggest you return to putting stickers indicating when the next rotation is due, just like the rest of the industry does. I have multiple cars (5 to 6) with multiple drivers, and I don't receive email notifications from Discount Tire, as you might expect.
The kids or my wife may have used their own phones or email accounts. Just confirmed with my wife; she doesn't receive notifications either. I have been removing old stickers and rewriting the new due date and mileage. I have also made my own using window stick-on snowflakes and cutting a piece up.
The problem is, even with a Sharpie permanent marker, they fade in a hot car. I had to call the shop to find out when my daughter just had a rotation. It was at 143K, so my faded homemade 149K sticker was correct. She's at 152K now!
I would have had this taken care of or had my daughter handle this weeks ago! Although Discount Tire might not be concerned about me wearing out tires prematurely, I am! I love your staff, service, and prices, but this no-sticker policy is just foolish. I told your courteous gentleman at the Naperville IL Ogden Ave location today that I'm really tempted just to use the new place across the street just for the sticker.
It's not up to him. Please reconsider reminder stickers, like Discount Tire did in the past and as the rest of the auto industry still does. The email reminder doesn't work or works poorly at best, especially with multiple drivers and vehicles. Belle Tire just opened across the street and they will match or beat your prices and put a reminder sticker in the window like the rest of the world.
I will abandon more than 25 years of loyalty over this no-sticker policy with my multiple cars. I was hoping it was just a temporary thing and enough people would complain.
However, what I expected to happen just happened, and I went well over on a due rotation and this really annoys me having fallen on deaf ears. NO ONE has followed suit and gone to email reminders… because it is inconsiderate and reflects being cheap or lazy.

I have multiple vehicles and multiple drivers. I don't receive the email reminders regularly when rotation is due.
Just went to 9k miles since the last rotation on my daughter's car and it annoys me because I tell them every time that your email reminder system is inadequate. My homemade sticker faded, even with a Sharpie black marker. The rest of the industry all have sticker reminders for tires, oil, and other auto services. Discount Tire is the only one trying to go 'paperless' with reminders, but this is not the banking industry.
I will walk away from over 25 years as a loyal Discount Tire customer because of this and take my multiple cars with me. There's a brand new Belle Tire just across the street that will match or beat prices and give me the reminder sticker like the rest of the world. I also don't like that I am prematurely wearing this set of tires by not keeping up with the rotation.
What will Discount Tire do about that? Sell me another set?

Sat there for 2 hours to have a set of tires changed and according to the vehicle tracker it was supposed to be finished at 11:15 am (mind you I've been there since 9 am) and at 11 am it was still sitting in the parking lot untouched all while I'm sitting inside waiting on the car when I asked for my keys back so I could leave they asked why I was leaving so I just told them why and left

To whom it may concern, I, Manuel Cortez, am a customer at the Yuma, AZ store on 32nd St. Today, July 15, 2024, I visited the store twice and spent more than half of the day there.
On the first visit, I bought two tires for an F350 with aftermarket wheels. On the second trip, I took my wife's Durango in for tire repairs. I dropped off my truck and took my wife's Durango to take advantage of my day off from work. The second trip took longer than expected due to the tire shop having some technical issues, according to the person assisting me.
Long story short, when I got back home, I rechecked my truck and noticed multiple scratches on my truck wheels. None of the wheels or tires had any curb scratches that may have been from me. The wheels have an offset that does not have any other explanation than these scratches occurring during the handling in today's service. By the time I got back home with my wife's vehicle and saw the scratches on my truck wheels, the store had already closed.
I tried to reach them via a customer service number and had no luck, which is the reason for this email.
Please reach back to me to see what can be done. Thank you in advance.
Preferred solution: Solution to fix my wheels. I’ve been a customer for all my vehicles at discount tires and never had a complaint until todays visit.

I called Discount Tire on June 29, 2024. I was told they needed to order my tire and it would be there the next day.
I needed another tire that was in stock. I went up there, waited an hour for Evelyn to tell me to come back the next day and they would put both on. I went the next day, waited an hour to be told it wouldn't be ready until 4:00 PM (it was 10:30 AM). I went back at 4:00 PM and one tire was put on and the back one was not.
She says 'Oh it didn't come today, it'll be Tuesday,' the 2nd of July. No one called me Tuesday and I had to call them. Of course, it wasn't in the docking area and Evelyn was off that day. Today is July 5th and I went this morning AGAIN; now I'm waiting, three hours later, for them to put the tire on my rim so I can go pick it up and put the tire on myself.
I was also overcharged and paid the day I ordered the tire and it's still not finished.
This is at Watson Blvd., Warner Robins, Georgia. I will NEVER deal with Discount Tire again.

Showed up on time for my appointment (20 min. earlier) after making an online appointment the day before for a simple service (rotation and balancing).
After registering at the counter, I waited for 90 minutes before someone talked to me. I was informed that my tires were wearing out to a concerning tread wear level, despite all the proper rotation and balancing previous events. Never mind the 50,000-mile warranty, and of course, they wanted to sell me a new set of tires way before the warranty mileage promised.
It seems Discount Tire is offering low tread wear, low traction tires at a high price with an over-promised mileage warranty. :-(

I called the front desk to help my son get set for them replacing a wheel they purchased due to damaging it. While my son was waiting for them to get his auto into the shop, they were taking smack about me in front of him and other customers.
He was super embarrassed.
They thought it was funny. Laughing at my son.
Terrible management allows this and in front of a 15 year old kid.
My experience has been terrible and we will never purchase tires from Discount Tire.

They had me to wait 2 hours for them to do nothing. They did not remove the nail out of my tire or do rotation and balance.

Naperville IL location gives out your personal information to strangers!
I received an email invoice for service on a car that I don't even own anymore. I traded car 6 months ago to a dealership.
So someone brought my old car in to them and they serviced the car without verifying who was standing in front of them. They created an invoice and gave it to a stranger that had my name, my address and my cell phone number.
They won't return my emails to let me know how they will assure me that it won't happen again and what to do if my info is used fraudulently.

I went in to get tire sensors on my vehicle and one of the employees took the tire stems out of my tires, rolled on perfectly good tires, and damaged my tires. I have never had air let out of my tires just to see what type of tire sensors the vehicle needs.
I had no problem with my tires until he did that. I'm pissed I had to replace my tires, it cost me $557.75.

I bought 2 new tires last year when back in February I don't know date cause I got no receipts cause manager was mad they when to put 2 more new tires in and told me I had 2.loose studs and if they put 2 new tires on front they would have to take my car tow my car and impound cause 2 lose wheel studs was dangerous I said out new ones I the back well they rookie over torqued the lug nuts and made all 5 lose when I went the next day to my garage to get fixed with all 5 was y that dangerous? And the 2 lose is what they did when they put my first 2 new tires on.
And didn't put my new hub cap on right in one and I lost it coming home and without a receipt with all about road hazard like I got on the first 2 it cost me $200 and parts to fix the 5 when studs. I would like to get some help but I know I won't we were rude to and a horrible experience I am contacting the BBB if nothing is done.

It isn't about the tire - human kindness
I had a nail in my tire and went to the local discount tire to get it fixed. They told me it would take about an hour, I told them I couldn't wait that long my husband was being transported to emergency room.
One of the associate overheard me and said I will take care of it for you. It took him about 20 minutes, yes it is the tire but human kindness.
